PHOTOGRAPHY BY AMY T BEDARD
Day 30: The end
Autumn and Thanksgiving decorations are tucked away until next year.
Day 29: Three of anything
A trio of the cones from my small cone collection. The Giant Sequoia (left front) is the world largest tree with a very small cone! Digger Pine (right front) is a native to California—I don’t know why but I love the points on it! The Sugar Pine (in back) is the tallest pine tree and has the longest cone of all the conifers.
Day 28: From Above
I think this plant at the library looks neat from above.
Day 27: Bad Habit
Leaving clothes in the dryer.
Day 26: Celebration
My sister put our parents' tree up last Saturday. I told her Santa nukes one elf each time someone puts up holiday decorations before Thanksgiving.
Day 25: Your Choice
A lovely little lake that I like to visit.
Day 24: Transportation
A nice day for a walk down a country lane.
Day 23: Books
I love books. I own many books. I work in a library. But this one is different. I picked it up a few weeks ago and hope to journey the Adirondacks and visit all 102 towns. At 6 million acres, the Adirondack Park is larger than Yosemite, Yellowstone, Glacier, Grand Canyon and Great Smokies combined! It’s a combination of towns and forever wild land. I think this is going to be long, fun journey!
Day 22: Broken
Given time, nature will break down and take back everything we've made.
Day 21: Soft
Paper faces with yarn hair baring an uncanny resemblance to their artists hang on a wall at the nursing home. A note says, "When this you see -- remember me." 💜
Day 20: Imperfect
My bent finger.
Day 19: Technology
Early 20th century technology allowed this Welte-Mignon player piano to fill one of the Miner houses with music and no one need know how to play because it was automatic!
Day 18: Black & White
Binder Clips
Day 17: Sun
I love the aurora borealis so much that I made my own solar filter so I could monitor sunspots. Here we see sunspot region 2454 (specks just to the left of center). If my lens were a bit longer or I had a telescope we'd also be able to see sunspot region 2455 which is located just above and slightly right of region 2454 and solar filaments flapping off the sun's surface.
Day 16: Cold
The wind is blowing the clouds away and the temperature is dropping fast.
DAY 15: Love
My best friend. :-)
Day 14: Hobby
Puzzles with family
Day 13: Sign
Sometimes I forget to sign purchase requisitions...not this time!
Day 12: Landmark
The artistry on the arch entrance to the Trombly Bay Cemetery is beautiful.
Day 11: Hidden
Looking for mice nests at the library.
Day 10: Scary
When you think about it, the passage of time is terrifying.
DAY 9: WEIRD
A piano sitting by the lake and in November? Cue GNR.
Day 8: Fill the Frame
At the (Life of a Tree) Tree.
Day 7: Selfie
Outdoors is where I'm happiest and I love the night sky, and the Tree had to have a cameo. The mirror was to contact life on other planets. :-)
Day 6: Fire
I don't have a fireplace or a fire pit or even a gas stove but I do have matchsticks...well my Mom had matchsticks and she let me have a few. :-)
Day 5: Nature
A short detour after my Saranac Lake presentation today. The things I do for these photo challenges.
Day 4: Scent
Fresh mowed grass. In November.
Day 3: Pattern
Apropo on election day.
DAY 2: Color
The lonely road home. Time to drive off into the sunset...and get out of the road.
Day 1: In Your Hand
One minute it's there, firmly in your grasp. The next, it's gone.
